Dental Technology
Intra Oral Camera
Using an Intra Oral Camera gives us a chance to give you a guided tour of your mouth. The camera can be moved around your mouth while you watch live on a screen, allowing you to see and better understand what your dentist is communicating to you.
Low Dose, Digital Radiographs
To properly care for our patients, we believe in using low dose digital radiographs. This technology uses 90% less radiation than standard dental radiographs. The images appear instantly on the computer so we can view and analyse them right away.
CEREC
CEREC is Computer-aided restoration technology which can achieve precise natural looking restorations in a single visit to your dentist rather than the two or three visits that would have been required in the past. This provides you with a faster experience when you need crowns, fillings or veneers, leaving you with more time for whatever is important to you.
The procedure involves cleaning the tooth of any decay and conserving as much of the healthy part of the tooth as possible. The CEREC process then uses a 3D camera to take a scan of the area that needs to be fixed. This is then used in the CEREC machine to design and manufacture the tooth’s restoration with a block of porcelain ceramic. All this is done while you wait at the practice and then the new restoration is finally attached to the remains of the original tooth using a strong bonding adhesive providing a natural looking result.
